Lance Duquette is the perpetual male lead of Sharpville’s small town theater productions. Onstage and off, females vie to be his leading lady, seemingly blinded to Lance’s love-them-and-leave-them attitude.
Backstage, Jimmy Hopkins helps with props and dreams of capturing the attention of makeup artist and wannabe playwright, Melody Light. Just as romance starts to bloom, Lance focuses his attentions on Melody. Deranged with jealousy, Jimmy threatens to make this play, Lance’s last.
Can Melody’s creative ploy save Jimmy? Watch drama unfold backstage, while Backstage unfolds on stage, and learn what happens in a chilling and unscripted final act.

Book Blurb Fridayis hosted by Lisa Ricard Claro, who posts a weekly photo and challenges us to “write a book jacket blurb (150 words or less) so enticing that potential readers would feel compelled to buy the book.” That’s quite a challenge, but it’s a lot of fun as well. Click on the image at the left to read more blurbs or enter one of your own.
This week’s blurb has 141 words.

Oh, a thriller! Something about this picture set everyone’s mind on to murder or death…your story sounds like this theater has some foul PLAY!

Oh, good, a murder mystery. I love ‘em. And of course she’ll get him off. It was one of the ex-girlfriends who did it. Of course I’ll buy the book, to find out for sure.

Fascinating theatrical twist to this – as well as the knife on the cover …

That’s funny that you included a knife in the picture which turns the entire scene… It’s interesting how many used murder in their blurbs. Great job.

Wow, this is great! I love how you added the knife into the photo. Wonder if she did it herself for the sake of a good play or if he did?

You always pull me in with romance, Grandma. I love the twist of the line “Watch drama unfold backstage, while Backstage unfolds on stage.” What a great hook! I’m ready to brew some hot tea and settle in for this romantic thriller.

Wow, this one is as sharp as a…knife. I’m still giggling at your addition to the picture!
