House Progress

We don’t have a new home yet, but things are starting to look up. Calico put an ad on craigslist, which snagged two inquiries. We’re very excited about one in particular, which is about three miles from the university and definitely in the country. Then she received a response on an inquiry that she made a couple weeks ago. It is a stone’s throw from school, which would be a great time saver and eliminate the need to drive. Calico will be taking an overnight trip to view them – date to be scheduled.

Despite our ruthless discarding and recycling, there is still a large accumulation for a thrift store pickup. We are also looking at items that might be sold. Do you suppose that there is one person, who is breathlessly waiting to buy old speakers, Royal China willowware and a used refrigerator/freezer? Not likely, but I can dream

I hope you can sell them, GMa. :)

Also have to watch the scammers. They browse the ‘Houses for Sale’ ads then put the same house, same description, listed for rent with a reasonable price. I guess they have realtor combinations to get the keys for showing.

Then after ‘renting’ it several times they are GONE. They are doing that with Craig’s List around here according to the TV news stories.

We’ve rec’d a number of scam offers. We check the online public property records to see who owns the house. The scammers disappear, if you ask why they are trying to rent a house that they don’t own!
