A Good Mix

I haven’t climbed any mountains to ask some turbaned guru about the meaning of life and I don’t think there’s a one-size-fits-all answer to the question anyway. I once heard a pastor tell his congregation to find meaning by taking up a new hobby every five years. At first that seemed a bit superficial, but over time I’ve come to appreciate its merit. It’s easy to become set in our ways. A new hobby can stimulate our minds, introduce us to new people and expand our world. It may not be the whole answer, but a good mix of interests beats stagnation and boredom.

I love music and lately have become intrigued by the idea of mixing music. I’ve started reading a bit about it and even checking out equipment. I don’t want to spend a ton of cash, but I’ve been reading reviews and have bookmarked a Numark Mixtrac on my laptop. It’s under a hundred dollars and a thirteen year old, who gave it a 5-star review, also noted that it is lightweight and fits easily on his desk. That sounds perfect for a newbie of any age. I haven’t hauled out my credit card yet, but if the Easter bunny is listening, I wouldn’t mind finding one in my basket tomorrow. 😀

Oh, what fun that would be for you!
I know you have far more technological knowledge than the average bear, so I’m guessing you’d be mixing music in short order.

Well was it in your basket? I think I would need a class on it. Perhaps if you have a really good owner’s manual or can find one On-line it would be easy to operated.

Wow! That sounds like so much fun. I hope the Easter bunny listened.
