“Join the Navy and see the world.”
In fairness, the recruiter hadn’t promised he’d see it from a ship deck. (109)

You have a good set here, GMa.

And he didn’t get much of a ship deck’s view. That echoes a lot of the promises made to servicemen so I’ve heard.

The Air Force? Fear of heights? He’s probably in the right place after all.

I hope those other guys share with the last fellow. Likely he won’t make it to the top after helping everyone else.

I saw sailors during WWII, probably at church. I don’t know when I first heard of Popeye.

I don’t know about bottles of rum (except in the song, yo ho ho and a…) but the Canadian Navy used to give out daily “tots” of rum, and old British practice that has been discontinued now.
As for the air force or the navy, I’d rather be in a plane than on top of that wall.
Good to be back. We were away a long time.
