When a four year old asked if I played computer games, I told him Solitaire was my favorite. He looked puzzled and said “What about Minecraft and Call of Duty?” I wasn’t so sure about the Duty one, but I have heard of Minecraft. It’s that incessant background noise I’ve been hearing for the last couple of year, when my granddaughter plays. She’s into designing modules too. I tried playing it once, but just couldn’t understand what all the excitement was about. I seemed to move around in circles, blocked by walls at every turn. I would have needed more lives than a cat to stay alive for ten minutes.

Give me Solitaire any day. No game station to lug around, no need to figure out if I should be using coaxial digital or rca cable. I click on my app, pick a game and play to my heart’s content. I may lose a few games, but Solitaire has never killed me. I am undoubtedly disconnected from modern gaming, but I’m content to be a dinosauar.
